Happiness Is My Ultimate Destination

happiness is my destination

Everyone talks about making goals for the new year.

What do we even make goals for? To make ourselves happy right? Or is it to impress those around you? To prove someone wrong?

If anyone, hopefully it’s yourself.

When you look at the goals you have written out, can you ask yourself “ is this really going to bring me happiness?”

And actually answer yes.

Then you know you are doing the right thing, and you can feel confident in continuing to move yourself forward in that direction with hopefully no regrets.

We all assume that if we are striving for happiness that life won’t happen and try to knock us down, but it will.

And sometimes when that road bump comes, it hits you so hard you have to literally stop and ask yourself if you really want to keep going.

This is when fear likes to take over and remind you of every thing that could go wrong and why you probably should just stop.

When you listen, you are giving your faith to fear instead of to yourself like you deserve.

Someone I respect very much recently told me something I will never forget. He said, “ Faith is the only currency in the kingdom”.

Make more room in your life for those moments that keep you going and invest in your future, and your relationship with god.

Remind yourself daily of your happiness and how important it is to not just you but everyone else around you. Be fair to yourself.

We all view happiness differently.

What is it that makes you happy or what you think would make you happy? The happy your searching for, is it realistic? Or are you searching for something you will never reach? What do you view as true happiness? What will it take for you to get there?

I personally have been in that spot for the past 5 or so years, heck maybe my whole life.

I know I have said it before,

I feel extremely blessed to have the relationship I have.

But I even have days where I question myself, and every little thing in my life. It’s one of my weaknesses..I really am working on it! Life is so far from what we expect it to be sometimes.

I know it’s easier said then done trust me, but you have to learn how to be thankful for where you are.

Even if you have been through a lot of crap and it’s hard to not remember a lot of it constantly, you have to be thankful that you are no longer present in those times anymore and most importantly, let it go.

All you have control over is the next second, the next day, week, and even the entire next year.

YOU have control. No one else. Take it.

Make every second of your life count by being as happy as you can.

Being happy takes work!

Even if your not super happy-go-lucky, or even if you don’t really smile at all sometimes—maybe all the time, the only thing you do is make it out of your doorstep far enough to get something out of your car, to driving to get a coffee.

Cooking a meal. Or making a phone call.

That’s enough, and you have to truly accept and tell yourself that.

Every little bit of something that you do for yourself is a step further ahead.

Remind yourself of those little somethings that you do every day and try to do at least one more. If your doing that, you are growing.

I would never be where I am today without trying to be better then I was yesterday and last year. I’m so far from what I want to be.. but I can truly say that every year has continued to get better.

Laughter, peace, and joy have been way more present then they ever have been.

Life is so beautiful, and I don’t want to miss the most beautiful parts to it anymore.

It’s so much more than anxiety, more than having panic attacks all of the time, more than regrets.

Life is more than being cooped up in your house for days on end because your so full of fear to meet new people and to have them figure you out.

Maybe it’s the age I’m at, or the stage I’m at ( haha see what I did there;)) , but anyways, I don’t know what it is that has made me just now start to come to these realizations and has made me want to confront my past.

But I’m thankful that I’m here, and I have arrived at this destination point on my own map. It’s a beautiful, beautiful place to be.

Sharing my pain will not only heal me but can hopefully inspire others to confront theirs too.

Life is either more than what you think or less than what you think, always.

Take more chances.

Everything in life is essentially a risk in some way or another anyways. Life is to short to not do what you want and to not enjoy life.

Whoever and/or whatever it is that’s holding you back from being your best self, it’s time to let it go. A little bit of faith can go a very long way.

“ He replies, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there’, and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.
